WRITER & DIRECTOR
Presented by UQ Drama
UQ Drama Pavilion, May 2024
Adapted from Anton Chekhov’s classic play The Cherry Orchard, and reimagined by writer and director Daniel Lammin, the University of Queensland’s Drama students are proud to present A Cherry Orchard, a cross-generational comedy on class, money, and real estate. Over the past twelve weeks, the students have worked as both cast and creatives, collaborating with Lammin to reimagine Chekhov’s masterpiece with an updated lexicon and cultural context for the modern audience. Blisteringly funny, unexpectedly moving and quietly furious, A Cherry Orchard reimagines one of the great plays of all time with some of the most persistent concerns of our time.
