April Ist, 1933 - Idaho, America
As a monstrous dust storm looms over the Lilliputian and fictional town of Boise Plains, ex-pat millionaire Thomas Joad returns with the promise of enough new money to save the dirt poor town from imminent destruction. There's a catch, though.
May 2014 to present - Canberra, Australia
Then-Minister for the Arts George Brandis initially slashes $110 million worth of funding from the federal budget, thereby decimating the arts industry nation-wide and crushing the Australia's already dirt poor opinion of the arts. He's replaced in late 2015 by Mitch Fifield, but the funding is not returned, instead re-imagined as a Liberal-party slush fund.
As both 1933 and 2014 teeter on the edge of doomsday, only Rosetta Apps, the homely shopkeeper of the Boise Plains General Store, may prove Excellent enough to rescue both of the timelines.
